About this tool
Shuffle letters inside words to create jumbles for puzzles, games, and reading experiments. Each line is processed independently, with up to 10 lines available. Spaces and punctuation stay in place while letter order changes. The optional “Keep first & last letter” setting shuffles only internal letters, producing the familiar typoglycemia-style effect; words of three letters or fewer remain unchanged. “planet” might become “ntpela,” although each re-scramble can produce another valid arrangement. With first and last letters fixed, “reading” could become “rdaenig.” Enter a weekly spelling list on separate lines to make a classroom worksheet, jumble party clues, hide a surprise phrase, or demonstrate how context helps readers recognize altered words. Scrambling is random, so the output may occasionally match the original, especially for short words or words containing repeated letters. It does not guarantee a valid anagram word; it rearranges characters rather than searching a dictionary. Re-scramble until the result has the desired difficulty, then copy one line or all results. Avoid using generated jumbles as secure encryption because anyone can reverse them by inspection or automated search.
How to use
Type a word or phrase in the first row, and choose "Add line" for more entries.
Switch on "Keep first & last letter (typoglycemia style)" if the outside letters should stay fixed.
Use "Re-scramble" for another arrangement, then copy a single output or select "Copy all."
